Justyna Steczkowska, IRA, Urszula and Julia Pietrucha – these are the stars of the festival on the occasion of the Open Days of European Funds, which took place on Saturday, May 13 in the Zgierz city park. In the exhibition part of the event, institutions that obtain funds from various sources of European funding promoted themselves. Among them – the Municipality of Zgierz, promoting a new application for smartphones, made available thanks to participation in the Local Development Programme.
The Zgierz promotional tent, where you could not only install the new “app”, but also learn everything about municipal investments implemented with external funds, was visited by about one hundred and twenty people that day. All visitors who, thanks to the new incentive, wanted to download the application on their smartphone (or demonstrated that they already had it), received a package of promotional gifts. Dozens of new users have installed the application on their phones.
Information about the most important investments that are in progress or have already been completed (thanks to obtaining external funds supporting the budget of the City of Zgierz Commune) could be read from information boards placed on easels around the promotional stand. Employees of the City Hall of Zgierz also provided assistance, serving information, in particular on activities carried out as part of the project “Zgierz – a modern city after hours” co-financed by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021.
Visitors to the Zgierz tent spoke with sympathy about the new investments that are already visible in the city. They also asked about further steps taken in Zgierz as part of the funds obtained. The large age range of visitors to the promotional stand was noteworthy: from the youngest, through families with children, to seniors, who often showed great awareness in the field of digital technologies by installing the application themselves.
The promotion of the application of the City of Zgierz during the Open Days of European Funds 2023 was possible thanks to the implementation of the Project “Zgierz – a modern city after hours”, co-financed by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014 – 2021 under the “Local Development” program.
